Stanford’s Trent Johnson to be named LSU hoops coach

LSU has reportedly found its man in Trent Johnson.

BATON ROUGE - Stanford’s Trent Johnson has been chosen as the next LSU men’s basketball coach, multiple sources at LSU said Wednesday.

Johnson will be introduced at a 3 p.m. press conference on Thursday.

He guided the Cardinal to a 28-8 record this season with a berth in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 where Stanford lost to Texas. He compiled an 80-48 record in four seasons at Stanford with three NCAA tournament trips. His overall mark, which includes five seasons at Nevada is, 159-122.
